Susanne Bard hails from Seattle, Washington. She has rarely been seen more than a stone’s throw from a microphone over the past decade. After several years of recording bird song for a master’s degree in animal behavior, she headed to Montana in 2001 to complete an M.F.A. in Science and Natural History Filmmaking. Susanne has written and produced nonfiction television programming for A&E Networks, Animal Planet, The History Channel, PBS, National Geographic, and Smithsonian Networks. She also lived and worked in Central America for two years, running an archaeological field camp in Belize and studying the songs of neotropical birds in Panama. Susanne enjoys playing the fiddle, performing improv comedy, and dancing.
